Jetbike-Palooza Update

The Jetbike parking lot on my desk has gotten a bit smaller.  I finished the 3rd Jetlock yesterday and have been doing the finishing touches on the remaining bikes.  It's been raining everyday and been super humid every time I try to prime the Jetbike riders.  With myself being back in school this week I foresee my painting time to be diminished a bit.  I have tentatively slated Sunday as a big painting day, but who knows.

This is my Eldar display case.  It's getting a bit too full with everything I have painted in the last year or so.  I am seriously debating on picking up a second one.  It should be able to hold the vast majority of my Eldar models which I plan on having finished painting in another year or so.

Eldar Alaitoc Warlocks on Jetbikes

I have not posted in a few weeks and that is due to what I have been referring to as Jetbike-Palooza. It has been a bit grueling batch painting 11 Jetbikes at once.  Seven of the bikes are for Guardian riders, three for Jetlocks, and one for my Farseer.  All of the bikes are finished.  Now the next step is working on the riders.

As for the the Jetlocks themselves, they consist mostly of Shining Spear riders with their Laser Lance arms being replaced with Singing Spears and a High Elf cloak being added.  I held out hope for running Shining Spears until the new book came out and once again they are outclassed by every other Fast Attack option.  My modeling skills are not they best, but I can do some OK looking kit-bashes from time to time.  I like idea that all my Jetlocks were Spears before they set forth on the path of the seer and have used much of their old equipment.

Next up is the 3rd Jetlock and working on the Windrider squads.  I am debating on whether or not I want to do some more modeling work on the Farseer before priming it.

Eldar Alaitoc Jet Cycle (Windrider Jetbike)

I got this metal long OOP Eldar Jet Cycle about a decade ago in an army deal off ebay.  I never really thought about painting it till recently and thought that a  unit of them would look well with some of my older Guardians.  It's a fairly simple model, only 5 pieces, but conveys an elegance you get in 80s era GW models.  The paint scheme  is that of the rest of my Craftworld forces and will be a guide for the rest of my plastic Jetbikes.

I had held off on doing any type of Jetbikes in anticipation for a new model.  With no Jetbike model with the new Codex release I finally decided to strip and paint the old ones I have. They are not in the best condition, but painting and some creative techniques I am hopeful I can salvage them and make them presentable.
