Eldar Alaitoc Wraithknight

To be honest, I bought a Wraithknight just because I didn't own one.  When you have a large army you get to the point where you're picking up models just because you don't have them.  It's not that I hate the Wraithknight, I am just not a huge fan.  I like the size and all, but there is just too much going on with the model compared to classic Eldar ascetic.  That might seem hypocritical compared to my statments regarding the two different Wraithlords, but really it's a fine line.  The Wraithlord, IMO, is on the other side of that line as compared to the Wraithknight.  This model is just so out of place compared the rest of the army.  Maybe whenever the titan is finish it will blend in a bit better.

Paint scheme wise it's standard Alaitoc.  I feel there are a bit too many gems on the model, even for it's size. They end up dominating the model when painted instead of accentuate.

Eldar Alaitoc OOP Wraithlord

I plugged away on this off and on over the last year or so.  I haven't liked Wraithlords in a long time.  I don't see myself starting on any of the 3 other old style Wraithlords I have. This model is just so blah compared to the new plastic one.  I did a decent amount of bending and manipulation.  I like to make ugly minis look even more goofy.

Paint scheme wise, this is my standard Alaitoc effort.

I have a lot of new stuff finished.  I just need to do some photography work.  I plan to be active this month.

Eldar Alaitoc Autarch on Jetbike

I am finally getting around to finishing some projects.  I have a lot of items on my table for the past few months, but never got the momentum to finish them.  It doesn't help when most of those models are larger.  I had to start a few Storm Guardians just for a change of pace.

I painted the Jetbike for this Autarch months ago in my standard Jetbike scheme.  I really like this resin Autarch model.  I would like to have seen some more options for both equipping the Autrarch and modding the bike as well.  A bike mounted fusion gun or reaper launcher would have been appreciated.  Hopefully I can use this finished model to help motivate me on finishing some of the other models on my table.

Work Table Wednesday

Got these guys in the mail today.  Fairly straightforward assembly so far.  Cleaning all the flash is really the hardest part.

I am around 98% finished with my Wraithknight at this point.  One really good session and he's ready for the camera.

My Titan is really lagging behind at this point though.  I really just need to bite the bullet and make a base for it.  I feel things will go faster once that happens.  At this stage though he only has one leg attached.

Alaitoc Army Update

I have not posted much, none actually, this month.  There is a reason for this.  I haven't really been painting that much, let alone finishing much.  I did manage to finish up my third out of four Wave Serpents.  I got in the mail some more Warp Spiders, but I hate the model so much I am having trouble working on them.  I have 9 total now, but I can't seem to find a scheme that doesn't make them look like crap.  Some models are so old and bad paint alone cannot salvage them.  It's a shame really.  The unit is so good.

The pics are of my display cases.  It helps put the entire army in perspective as to what's done.

On the table I have the aforementioned Warp Spiders, Storm Guardians, Guardian Crewmen, and Rangers.  I honestly cannot get excited about any of them.  That titan needs to show up soon.

Quick Update Storm Guardians and Weapon Crewman

I've been lacking both time and motivation for painting the last few weeks.  I did have time to finish this crewman for my D-Cannon Battery and some Storm Guardians.  I decided to work on some of the least important models I have.

The very concept of Storm Guardians is laughable.  Back in 2nd edition adding some close combat and close range specialty weapons was just part of a Guardian squad.  When 3rd spun them off on their own it got worse and worse with every rendition of them.  I went for an exaggerated poses for these guys.  I have 6 more getting their paint stripped right now.  Not sure how motivated I am going to be to even get past priming them though.  My table is full of recently stripped Pathfinders and some grav weapons.  My new items cannot come in the mail any quicker.

Eldar Alaitoc Pathfinders/Rangers

Seeing as I play Alaitoc and have 6k points or so painted, it was time for some scouts.  I have 25 Pathfinder models, 15 OOP 2nd ed metal ones with lasguns and 10 metal new style ones.  I have been working on them one at a time here and there.  I cannot say they are a priority and most likely I will stop once I get a squad of 5 done.  I have some stuff in the mail that will take up my time soon enough.

The majority of these models are their coats.  I spent really the least amount of time on them and I think it fits their fluff having understated camo cloaks.
